Merry Christmas!

Christmas was such a joy this year... It is always such a joy in our family on Christmas morning but something about this year was extra special. Maybe the fact that Jackson and Makena are here this year for Christmas and the fact that Owen was really into Santa Claus this year! SO much fun watching Owen see what Santa brought her for Christmas. I can hardly wait until next year when Jackson and Makena are into it too!!

Santa made an appearance on Christmas Eve at my parents house. Right before we sat down for dinner he walked through the front door. Owen is VERY scared of Santa but when he stopped by to see if she was being "naughty or nice" she was scared but then happy to see him. She really warmed up to him!! I think that she warmed up because she saw that Santa had brought her some M&Ms (her favorite). I'm so sad that Jackson was taking a nap when Santa came. All I got to capture was Makena being dramatic and Owen being confused!

Now that's some proud grandparents. Only missing sweet Makena

We were up bright and early on Christmas morning. Owen claims that she heard the reindeer on the roof and that's why she was up so early. There is nothing better than watching a little girls eyes light up when she sees that Santa brought her the scooter that she has been talking about for so long!! It was such a wonderful morning and we are SO blessed for all that we received. After breakfast we headed to see Justin's family and to have a turkey dinner. What a fun day with our loved ones :)

This is the first outfit we started with....All 3 kids matched

Then we had an accident and had to change into this! How cute are these "Baby Legs" for Jackson...Yep, that's a football :)

Complete chaos Christmas morning but I wouldn't change one thing about it

We hope you had a wonderful Christmas with your family. Merry Christmas from our little reindeer to yours :)

This is what he looked like at 6:00 p.m

Fussy J...

What a fun weekend! Jackson and I went on a fun walk and he LOVED every bit of it! He is such a different baby when we take him outside. He is so curious and loves looking at new things. On Saturday, Justin and I had a much need date night! We went to Kenzo Sushi in our new neighborhood in La Centerra! It was so fun and so delicious. We felt like we were “in town” but yet we were so close to home. I love La Centerra and can’t wait to see the new addition to it with great stores and restaurants. I haven’t had sushi since I found out I was pregnant and oh had I missed it! Grandma and Grandpa stayed behind to watch our little buddy.

So, I haven’t written much about this because we are trying to figure him out. Remember when I wrote about Jackson being fussy? Well, he is still fussy. Extremely fussy to be exact. He cries when he’s eating, cries when he’s not, cries when he has a dirty diaper, cries when it’s clean….do you get my drift? He has a crying issue and we can’t figure it out! I have taken him to the doctor on 3 different occasions because I just don’t know what to do!! We have narrowed it down to being either 2 things: severe acid reflux or a milk allergy. When he was really young he had this same issue but we just diagnosed it as colic. Well, now that he is 4 ½ months old the colic should be gone but it’s not! We have tried EVERY formula and nothing is helping...So, now we have put him exclusively on a hyperallergic formula (Neutramigen). Its not milk based or soy based so we will see if it helps. It’s gross, expensive and smells like dog food (for real), but I will do anything for Jackson to be a happy baby. We are also trying Prevacid for acid reflux. I’ve always been on the fence about giving an infant medicine but I guarantee if you were experiencing the frustration that we are…you would do it to.

It’s hard and I cry almost daily, but we are going to get through this. It’s so frustrating and exhausting to watch my sweet little Jackson cry for a reason that we can’t figure out. Don’t get me wrong there are times when he is very happy (see pictures below), and there are times when we cry together. I will say that we have seen a little difference since we started the new formula and medicine just a week ago. Of course it’s not the difference we have prayed for but I’m crossing my fingers that Santa answers our prayers for Christmas this year. Some days are good but the bad days definitely outweigh the good. On a happy note, I am still pumping and I’m just freezing everything I get…hoping that he really doesn’t have a milk allergy and I can give him my milk soon. Please pray for our precious little boy! He was being extra sweet on Saturday and you know I have to get the camera out when he’s all smiles  I just can’t resist his beautiful face….even when it’s covered in tears.

Oh, last thing! We close on our new house on the 29th. Can you believe just 3 shorts months ago they started building! We have our "final" walk through tomorrow. We are so excited! Pictures to follow!

The Biegel Christmas Party!

We celebrated the holidays once again with my parents annual party. Such a fun time getting to see all of our friends and celebrate the season! I think this was the 14th year. Wow, time flies! Not only did we celebrate the holidays but Justin had his 30th birthday. What a fun night. Happy birthday to the most amazing man and father that I could ever ask for. You are more than I could have ever dreamed of. It's hard to believe that this is my 8th birthday to celebrate with you. Looking forward to many, many more :)
We attempted to get all the grandchildren together. Jackson said "no way"! Next year we will add another grandchild to the mix!! John and Amy are expecting another one :)

The family

I know this looks like a "planned" picture, but Amy captured this moment. Jackson had just done a "stinky" in his pants and this was our reaction! Hilarious!

My two favorites!

Happy Birthday Justin!

Jackson meets Santa!

On Friday night we headed out to meet Santa. What better way than to do it at a friends house and avoid the hussle and bussle of the crowded malls during the holidays. Yes, the holidays just don't seem like the holidays if you don't experience the crowded malls....But, with a newborn I think I'll pass with the long lines for Santa :) Jackson was a huge fan of Santa; Makena...not so much.  It didn't even phase him. I was one proud mom! I think he deserves lots from Santa this year! How cute is he? Thanks Deidra for hosting!

Happy Thanksgiving!

THIS IS A LONG ONE! (mainly for my reference...trying to document everything and not skip a beat)
Lots to be thankful for this year…that’s for sure! I’m incredibly thankful for so much!
Here goes my list:
My wonderful husband who is by far the most amazing father to Jackson. Seriously, I had no idea that I married “super dad” until Jackson came along! I mean, of course I knew he was wonderful but you just never know how wonderful someone is until a child enters your life.  He does so much for that little boy and he loves every second of it. Whether it be making the bottles, getting the bath ready, folding clothes, changing diapers, cutting his finger nails (I have still never done this, it’s just something Justin has taken the initiative to do since Jackson was born)…Whatever it is, Justin does everything for Jackson with such love. Best. Dad. Ever and I’m SO thankful.
I’m so thankful for sweet Jackson. He has been quite the handful the past couple of days due to teething and I must say, with all the crying he has been doing I love him even more. When he cries his bottom lip puckers out and it might just be the sweetest yet sad thing you’ve ever seen and I’m thankful for it.
My parents. They have been oh so generous to us our entire life but lately it has been over the top generous. We are still living with them (house will be done this month) and I can’t tell you how much they have helped us with Jackson. It has been wonderful and we are thankful that they have opened up their house to us for the last several months. I’m kinda sad that they are moving so fast on our new house….that means we have to move out soon L
Our jobs. Geez, we are so fortunate. So many people out there are struggling looking for work and we are so fortunate that we have such amazing jobs that are stable. SO thankful.
I’m so thankful for the beautiful home that we are building. I think it will be perfect for my little family and I can’t wait to live there…It’s beautiful and I am excited to call it “ours” soon.
SO thankful for our families. They are so WONDERFUL and I couldn’t ask for better “in-laws”.
My friends. No need to elaborate on this because we are so blessed with such a wonderful circle of friends. We love all of you!
Last thing…Best part about Thanksgiving……Sunny 99.1 starts playing continuous Christmas music until Christmas Day! I LOVE this time a year.  Just picture me driving around Houston working and jamming to Christmas music…Yep, that’s what I do and I can’t get enough of it. It’s the most wonderful time of the year!
Gosh we are so lucky and not a day goes by without thanking Him. My list could go on and on…
We had a wonderful Thanksgiving. We went to Temple for the day to spend time with my family and to visit with my Grandma Biegel. She just turned 91 and it was so fun to see her meet and see all the grandchildren. We then came back and celebrated yet another Thanksgiving prepared by Chef Neale (I bet it was better than yours J). Justin’s family came over to enjoy it with us.
Jackson had his biggest milestone week yet. He officially rolls over, back to tummy, tummy to back….he laughs out loud and squeals when he’s excited. He is no longer swaddled. We have been so scared to not swaddle him because we were scared that he wouldn’t sleep as good, but I’m happy to report that he goes down by 7:30 and doesn’t make a sound until 6:15….Not even a peep.
My dad's mom (91 years old)
Aunt Katy, Uncle Ed, Kathryn and Makena
Poor Jackson. Owen got excited and wanted to pull him out to play!
This is the crying I wrote about...
My lil turkey (or should I say huge)
Wouldn't he be a beautiful little girl?! We put him in Makena's bouncer while we ate dinner.

Just because I'm cute!

I took Jackson outside today to enjoy the warm weather as we prepare for a chilly Thanksgiving! He LOVED being outside and enjoyed being able to see and smell new things. How precious is this sweet little boy?! Who would have guessed that he was SO fussy all day? So fussy that I actually took him to the Dr. on my way home from work to make sure he was ok...I know I'm "that" mom...but 2 bad days in a row really was a red flag! Yep, you guessed it...the second I got to the pediatricians office that sweet little smile appeared and that's all I have been staring at  since we got home! Go figure!
