Bye, Bye

Jackson has  new trick! He can wave "bye, bye"! He did it a few days ago and I thought it was a for sure coincidence but he hasn't stopped doing it since. We were at the pediatrician today and he was waving to anyone and everyone that would look his way...It was so cute! He only does it with his left hand, kinda like he does everything else! Unless something dramatic changes this little boy is for sure left handed.

Fun weekend!

What a great weekend with lots of friends! On Friday night we had our "Friday group" over. There is a big group of us and we switch houses every Friday for dinner. This week it was at our house! There was a bunch of fajitas, drinks, kids and fun! There was 14 adults and 9 kids. That's just sounds exhausting. It was loads of fun and I can't wait until it's at our house again :)

On Saturday we celebrated sweet Sloan's first birthday. Jeni went over board for her little princess...I wish I had my camera but here is proof that my boys had a blast.

I know this looks like "white trash", but Jackson always goes into the pantry and tries to pull this box down. It was full so Justin put the beer in the refrigerator then got a brilliant idea. Seriously, Justin was like a little kid and was so excited to go and get his belt so he could pull Jackson around. I'm pretty sure Jackson thought he had the coolest dad on the block. I swear, it's the free toys that are always the best. Jackson loves the remote, the cell phone, pots and pans and now "box rides". Really, who needs $50 toys from Toys R Us? I honestly can't remember the last time I laughed this hard!

Before I knew that Jackson would love "box rides", I went to Toys R Us. I bought two new toys and here is one of them! Yes, these toys are like $50. Ridiculous but very cool and again, here is proof that he thinks its pretty great too! He likes to get behind it and push it. Too cute :)

Have to show off my little "water baby". Can't resist this cutie pie! He melts my heart everyday!

and here is one last one...I hope these blue eyes stay like this forever!

No fear!

Ladies and gents we have a climber....a fast one! This little one has no fear. Here he is climbing up the stairs for the first time. I let him near the steps and off he went! Our babysitter said that he went up 4 steps today. This is the video at our house going up 8 steps. He would have gone further but I got scared that he would fall back while I was filming so I stopped.

Where have I been?

I feel like I haven't blogged in forever and I don't know why! There has been so much going on but for some reason I can't think of anything to write. Maybe its the fact that we recently celebrated my 28th birthday, my  first Mother's Day, Jackson's 9 month birthday, a three day trip to Dallas for work and a trip to Wimberley to celebrate Kelly and Tony getting hitched. Whew! That's probably why I can't think of what to write first!

My birthday was the best one yet! I celebrated with my best girl friends at Eddie V's. It was so good that we went back the next night with Justin, Kathryn and Neale. It was the best ever. There is something about going to dinner with a Chef. If you don't know what to order just order one of everything. Yes, that's right, we got 3 appetizers, all different entrees, and of course the birthday desert (and lots of wine...OK, maybe a vodka tonic or two). It was fabulous and I'm excited that Neale's birthday is coming up...because that's a great reason to go out to another fabulous restaurant. I wont' say what birthday is coming up but its a BIG one for him :)

Then it was Mother's Day. I'm really liking how my birthday and Mother's Day is only a week apart. That means that its all about me for a month! Ya know, because since my birthday is on the 30th my birthday month truly last a month and then Mother's day is right after. It's pretty great! Jackson got me the sweetest card ever...It said something along the lines of

"Mom, I love you and think you are the best mom ever. Thank you for all that you do for me.
Love, Jackson".

I smiled, I cried and then loved on him for the rest of the day! I know that of course Justin wrote it but I know Jackson would  have written the same thing if he could! We spent the afternoon at my parents pool loving this awesome weather :)

I just got back from Dallas on Thursday night. Here is how my experience at the DFW went. Let me remind you that every time I go to DFW for work, I tell myself that I'm never flying again. This time, I mean it! NEVER AGAIN will I fly to Dallas. NEVER! I don't feel like typing out the whole day but we will just sum it up as 9 hours at the airport only to find out that IAH is closed due to weather. We finally get the OK to board and depart then IAH closes again. We sit on the runway for 3 hours. Awesome! The whole point of me telling you that I went to Dallas was to tell you that I spent 5 days apart from Jackson. WORST 5 days. I left Tuesday, came back Thursday, had to work a convention on Friday, then left early Saturday morning to go to Wimberely to celebrate Tony and Kelly getting married. We got up super early this morning and headed home....Justin and I couldn't wait to kiss him. Jackson stayed at his grandparents the whole time. My plan was to see him Thursday when I got home, but instead I was stuck in DFW. Anyhow, all I thought about was Jackson and couldn't wait to see that sweet face again. I cried when I left him and teared up when I saw him again. We went swimming all day today and my life is back to  normal.

I just didn't feel the same without Jackson by my side for the past 5 days. Something about me didn't feel right. I didn't feel complete. Something was missing. It's SO wonderful to have him back in my arms. He pretty much attacked my faced when he saw me. He really did! Smiled so big and reached his little hands out to greet me!!!!!!! There truly is no better feeling in life than that. I could go on and on about him, but I'm pretty sure yall understand how I feel about "my man".

Oh and in the mix of all that we took Jackson's 9 month pictures. If you haven't seen them, then check them out! I'm dying to see all of them but here is a sneak preview.
