First Birthday Party!

Who knew planning a first birthday party was so stressful? I have had this party on my mind for at least 3 months (no lie). Justin didn't want me to go overboard but I didn't listen. Why can't I just keep things simple? I must get that from my mom! Who cares, it turned out exactly how I envisioned it and I wouldn't change one thing about it! It was fabulous! There is a TON of pictures but I tried to narrow down to my favorites to highlight the day. The theme was  a"Burger Bash". I didn't want it cheesy....a classy burger bash. You are probably thinking that there was burger everywhere...Think again! It was primary colors with a splash of burgers :) The pictures can tell the story!
 Cupcakes: "Oh La La"
 Cookies: "Memorial Bakery"
Party treats
Fruit skewers, potato salad and burgers
 The birthday boy!
 Hamburger Cake
Centerpieces for outside
Fans that said "Thank you for being my fan"
 He loved it!

1 year old

Pretty sad that these monthly photos are done. It's always fun to sit him in the chair and see what he does! Lately these sessions have been a total of about 1 minute long. He just can't sit still. Typical of a boy, from what i hear!
22.9 pounds (48th percentile)
30.75 inches (78th percentile)
18.25 inches head circumference (50th percentile)
just got his top 2 teeth. They came in the same day. So that makes 4 (2 on top, 2 on bottom)
size 4 diapers
size 4-5 shoe (big boy)
12-18 month clothes
sleeps 7-7am (amazing!)
all whole milk (24oz/day)
sit forward facing in car (whole new experience)
rarely cries
walks 75% of the time. He can now get up on his own when he falls (no furniture to help him)
loves drawers and cabinets. Gosh he could spend hours in my bathroom.
goes crazy in the bath tub.
LOVES all food. The only thing he's not a fan of is avocado, but that was like a month ago. I should try again!
drinks out of a sippy cup (NO more bottles)
can hold and drink his sippy by himself (never thought the day would come when I could give him his milk and he could feed himself)

Happy 1st birthday Jackson!

Dear Jackson,

Time flies when you are having fun! I can hardly believe that just a year ago we was anxiously awaiting the arrival of you. Daddy and I could not wait to meet you! It was hands down the absolute best day of our life and we wouldn't trade it for anything. We had no idea of the amount of sleep we wouldn't get, just how many times we would go to the pediatrician when it turns out that you just had acid reflux or how mommy would cry every time you cried. No one told us how much money we would spend on your Neocate formula and all the prescriptions for your acid reflux. Oh, I forgot about the expense of diapers!!!! But Jackson, mommy and daddy would never change anything about it!!!

I remember it so clearly...at 7:13am our world changed for the better. When our eyes met yours it was love at first sight! Daddy and I had no idea how much joy you would bring to our lives! Everyday is an adventure to you and I adore watching you explore this world. You learn something new everyday and I'm constantly watching light bulbs go off in your head.

You have the most beautiful smile in the whole world. Daddy gets upset when I call you beautiful because you are a boy and should be called handsome. But in Mommy's eyes you are down right beautiful! Your smile is contagious and your laugh will brighten any room. I can't tell you how much mommy and daddy love you. You are the center of our conversations and we are constantly talking about you. You make mommy and daddy so happy and we are so lucky that your are "ours". Thank you for being who you are. Happy 1st birthday sweet boy! Thank you for making us so proud.

Love,
Mommy and Daddy ("Ma Ma & "Da Da")
