The Nursery!

I couldnt wait any longer for Justin to get around to it....So, I figured out how to upload pictures! Here are some of Jackson's nursery!

37 weeks!

I can hardly believe that I am 37 weeks pregnant today! Where has the time gone? People always say that they last 1-2 months just creep by....I have to disagree! Each day goes faster and faster and closer and closer to meeting our little boy!

I hadn't seen the dr. since my ultrasound last week and was excited to see what he had to say about Jackson. The first thing he said was "wow, you have a big boy inside of you"! I then asked what was so big about him? Was it his stomach, his butt, or is he just overall a big baby? Haha! Everything seems to be measuring right on except his head. Last week when I was 36 weeks his head was measuring 38.3 weeks. WOW!! Nothing to be concerned about, he just has a big head! (heck, he might not even have a big head but Dr. Cone says that the ultrasounds are only off by +- 10%....so either way, we have an "above average" size child estimated to weigh 7 pounds as of today!

Then he does the normal "cervix" check, which let me add, is the most uncomortable/painful part of being pregnant...I thought i did really good, until he told me that I did just as bad as last week! Whatever, the results were sad.....havent dilated anymore than last week and have effaced a tiny bit more (60%).

So the question is.....c-section or vaginal? I have always wanted to do vaginal and still do, but the size of his head obviously makes me think twice. I just want Dr. Cone to tell me what he wants me to do.....Without so  many words, he is really pushing for a c-section for numerous reasons....One, being that he is measuring large; Two, being that yes I have started to dilate, he is still really high and hasnt "dropped"; Three, since he is measuring big he will not let me go past 39 weeks and as of today if i were to go into labor it would be a VERY long process since my cervix isnt ready. Yes, there is medicine to get my cervix going but the fact that he hasnt dropped, puts me at risk for a long labor, and potentially a c-section when its all said and done.... Who would want to be in labor for hours on end just to have an emergency c-section! Not this girl!

I decided not to schedule anything and just wait it out..I go back next Monday and we will see if anything has changed and go from there.. Either way, 39 weeks is August 2.....He shall be here before that! (yep, thats 2 weeks from today)

I called Justin to tell him the news since he couldnt go to the appt with me....He said "wow, we might have a baby next week"! I guess me growing and getting fat wasnt real enough for him!!!!! He's too funny!!! :)

This only took 9 months!

Okay!! Here I am. I have been convinced to join the blogging world...it only took 9 months! I have actually had this blog set up since we found out I was pregnant and orginally I was going to announce my pregnancy via blog, but i never got around to it!! So 9 months later with  a little boy brewing in my stomach....here I am!!! We will see how long it lasts!

I just finished packing Jacksons bag for the hospital. Isn't that weird! I dont even know what to bring; I mean I havent even met him yet, how am I suppose to know what outfits look best on him; so I will just bring all the new born outfits that I have! I thought I had allot but when I went to pack, I really dont. Most of the outfits you get at showers are 3 months. (FYI: if you need to buy for a new baby, buy them some newborn outfits!) Hey, I always buy 3 month too but I just learned something myself!

So, just a little update from my 36 week dr. visit....I'm 50% effaced and 1cm dilated....Whats that mean? You got me; I just know that I'm 9cm away from meeting my little boy! How long could that take? We will see, but I swear I feel different every since finding that out! Justin thinks I'm crazy and imaging things. But, if I had to guess I really think he will come in about 2 weeks...I'm going to guess July 31 (due date is August 9)...but if I'm anything like my sister then he will take his time coming!

Then I go down to have an ultrasound that I had to beg my dr for. I mean, why can't I just get an ultrasound when I want one; who cares about insurance! But, i smiled and made him feel sorry for me that I was pregnant in July and he directed me where to go! I just love him....I really do! Jackson is on his way to being a big boy. He weighed in at 6 pounds 7 oz (with the expectations of gaining 1 oz every day until he arrives) Ok, do the math. We are looking at an 8-9 pound baby! Now, thats not exact...its just an estimate on how much he weighs....Thats the 70th percentile! We havent seen the dr since we found that out so we will see what he says about that next Monday!

People keep asking for pictures of the nursery, so I promise I will have Justin upload those for me soon...Thats his job; I have not the slightest clue on how to do that without making my computer freeze....Ugh, computers!

I'm liking this whole blog thing already...You get to just write whatever comes to your mind...This could be fun!!!!
